We Swore We’d Do It Over Summer… Five Years Later, Here We Are
If there’s one absolute truth about teachers, it’s this: we have no time. So we’ll keep this quick.
We’ve had the idea for Teachers Planit for a while now, but because we are teachers ourselves, it kept getting shoved to the backseat. Er — the trunk, really. You know that golden idea we all swear we’ll tackle over summer holiday, but then don’t? Yeah, that’s us … for five years.
And then in the midst of our dream AI was… born? Created? Hatched? Whatever it was, it changed everything. We thought our little idea was likely pointless; AI had it handled now. …And yet…

We know AI is powerful. It can crank out feedback, align to standards, and whip up a decent outline in seconds. But AI has never:
- Stood in front of a class and had the capacity to realize the discussion was way too good to stop.
- Comforted a student mid-breakup before sending them off to Period 8.
- Somehow managed to get a group of teenagers excited about metaphors
- Watched friendships grow. And die. And blossom again.
- Seen that spark when a student suddenly ‘gets it.’.
- Held their pee for ungodly amounts of time
- Thought about students before, during and after school. And then some.
AI is great, but it doesn’t have soul. And it definitely doesn’t have a teacher’s soul. Or passion. Or grit. That’s where we come in: Teachers Planit is here to be your coach and your teaching-therapist.
