Cambridge A2 Exam Prep - Online Lesson 30 min

Sunday Night is Saved: The A2 “Exam Prep” Triple Threat

Let’s be honest: A2 exam prep for a young learner usually involves a lot of dry worksheets, a few “I’m bored” sighs, and you wondering if you can just bribe them with a sticker to pay attention for ten more minutes. At Teachers Planit, we don’t do boring. We build the “loopholes”—the high-energy, high-impact lessons that actually work in a real classroom.

Online Teaching – Student learning A2 English Lesson

We’ve bundled three A2 lesson plans into one streamlined pack. These plans are designed to turn “exam stress” into “exam success” without you having to spend your entire Sunday night scrolling through Google. I personally used these three lessons to help my student Ryan get some practice just 3 weeks before his exam. Ryan did end up having success on his exam so I thought I’d share these lessons with you in case you’re looking for a last minute lesson plan.

What’s Inside the A2 Exam Prep Bundle?

This bundle focuses on the three pillars of the Cambridge assessment using themes like School Life, Technology, and Hobbies:

  • The Vocabulary Builder: We skip the dry word lists. Your students will master high-frequency A2 verbs like hike, finish, and watch while debating whether LEGOs are superior to Nintendo Switches.
  • The Speaking Sprint: These prompts mimic Part 1 and Part 2 of the actual test. We use “Picture Descriptions”—like comparing a student on a laptop to kids playing outside—to build the confidence they need to actually speak up during the exam.
  • The Grammar Grip: We tackle the “tricky bits”—like adverbs of frequency and future forms—through context. Instead of abstract rules, they’ll practice by writing emails to “Owen” about why they can’t play online because they’re going to the zoo.

Why Teachers Love This Pack

  • Zero Prep: It’s “just print and teach.” Every reading text, listening script, and writing task is ready to go—no frantic prep required.
  • Student-Centric: We talk about things they actually care about, like screen time limits and school fun days.
  • Exam-Aligned: Every task is modeled after actual Cambridge tasks. From the Reading Comprehension styles to the 60-second Short Talks, there are no surprises on test day.

How to Use the Bootcamp

We recommend spacing these out over three weeks. Start with Vocabulary to build the foundation, move to Grammar (like mastering “have to” vs “want to”) to sharpen accuracy, and finish with Speaking to ensure they can put it all together out loud.
